One trackpad.
Four new controls.

The middle of your trackpad works exactly as before. TrackEdge only listens to a thin strip along each edge, and only when a touch starts there.

Right edge

Slide up and down for volume, in the same steps as the volume keys.

Left edge

Brightness of the built-in display, with the familiar on-screen indicator.

Top corners

Double-tap a corner to mute, open an app or a website, press a key combination or run a Shortcut. You choose.

Bottom edge

Swipe sideways to skip to the next or previous track. Tap to play or pause, if you like.

Corner actions

Your corners.
Your shortcuts.

Give each top corner of the trackpad a job. Double-tap to open the app you live in, a website you check all day, a key combination or anything from the Shortcuts app.

Or keep it classic: mute, play or pause. Try both corners in the demo

Feels like it came
with your Mac.

The small things are the whole point. TrackEdge was tuned slide by slide until it stopped feeling like an add-on.

A tick under your finger.

Every step comes with a light haptic click from the Force Touch trackpad, so you can feel the level change without looking.

The pointer stays put.

While you slide, the cursor freezes in place and comes back exactly where you left it.

Ignores your palms.

Resting hands, typing and clicks near the edge don't count. A gesture must start inside the edge.

Fine control.

Hold Shift and Option while sliding for quarter steps, just like the keyboard.

The real indicator.

The same volume and brightness display macOS shows for the keys. Nothing new to learn.

Make it yours.

Choose what each corner does, put brightness on the right, limit slides to the lower part of the trackpad, require a modifier key, or set how wide the edges are and how fast they respond.

Private by design.

Touches never leave your Mac. The only network traffic is a license check and update checks.

Light as air.

A native app in the menu bar. No Dock icon, next to no CPU while you work.

Up and running in a minute.

A short welcome guide grants the one permission TrackEdge needs, then lets you try each gesture on your own trackpad before you close it.

Out of the way.
One click away.

TrackEdge sits in your menu bar. Click it to see both levels at a glance, switch gestures on and off, or adjust how a slide feels. Everything else lives in Settings, set once and forgotten.

Pay once. Keep it.

No subscription and no account. Your license key arrives by email a minute after checkout, with free updates forever.

Questions

Which Macs does it work on?

Macs with Apple silicon on macOS 14 Sonoma or later: a MacBook with its built-in Force Touch trackpad, or any Mac with a Magic Trackpad.

Does it work with a Magic Trackpad?

Yes. The edges and corners work the same on a Magic Trackpad, whether it sits next to a MacBook or on the desk of a Mac mini, iMac or Mac Studio. Gestures are measured in millimetres, so a slide feels the same on the bigger surface, and with two trackpads connected, the one you touch is the one in charge. Brightness needs the Mac's built-in screen, so on a Mac mini, a Mac Studio or a closed MacBook the brightness edge stays off. Volume, media and corners work everywhere.

Will it get in the way of normal clicks and scrolling?

No. A gesture only starts when your finger lands inside a thin edge strip (10% of the width by default), and TrackEdge ignores palms, typing and multi-finger gestures. You can make the edges narrower in Settings.

Can a corner open an app or a website?

Yes. In Settings → Gestures → Corners, give the top-left or top-right corner an action: open an app (double-tap again to hide it), a web page in the browser you pick, a file or folder, press a keyboard shortcut, or run a shortcut from the Shortcuts app. The top-left corner mutes until you change it, the welcome guide asks what the top-right one should do, and a corner without an action stays a normal part of the trackpad. The bottom corners are left to the media strip.

Why does it need Accessibility access?

To press the volume and brightness keys and your corner shortcuts for you, and to keep stray clicks near the edge out of your apps. TrackEdge doesn't record what you type, and nothing leaves your Mac.

How do I activate it?

Download and open TrackEdge, then paste the license key from your purchase email. The welcome guide asks for it, and you can also find Enter License Key in the menu bar.

I lost my key, or I got a new Mac.

Open your account and sign in with the email you used at checkout: your key, receipts and activated Macs are there. To move to a new Mac, deactivate the old one in TrackEdge (Settings → About) or remove it in your account.

Does it work offline?

Yes. It needs the internet once to activate. After that it checks the license now and then and keeps working for 30 days without a connection.
